Construction (Design & Management) Regulations

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM Regulations) are intended to ensure that health and safety issues are properly considered during a project’s development so that the risk of harm to those who have to build, use and maintain structures is reduced.

They were introduced in 1994 following publication of European Directive 92/57/EEC on minimum safety and health standards for temporary or mobile construction sites. The CDM Regulations were revised in 2007, and a further revision came into force on 6 April 2015.

It is a requirement on an employer to ensure that all of their employees are trained to safely carry out their role and not put themselves or others at risk.

Our dedicated trainer will design and deliver suitable training courses to meet the health and safety needs of individuals or groups within your organisation.

We work with you to ensure the minimum of disruption to your business as we factor in budget, timescales and staff availability.

Our training aim is to increase skills knowledge and competency within your organisation.

LADDER USER

Ladder training plays a vital role in promoting safe working practices, reducing falls from height and is a key component in compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (WAHR).

MANUAL HANDLING

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations place a requirement that all employees have adequate knowledge or training in safe manual handling practices to try and minimise the effects of poor manual handling techniques, this applies to all sectors and almost every job. Although not a level 2 qualification this bespoke course will be tailored to your organisation or manual handling tasks and will still comply with the law for manual handling training.

We deliver our courses in an interactive fun style which helps with knowledge retention.

SCAFFOLD INSPECTION

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 r5 states that only competent persons are permitted to use work at height equipment. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992 (PUWER), updated in 1998, now covers the use of work equipment in the workplace. The PPE Regulations 1992 r9 also states that PPE training must be provided if required. The aim of this course is to train people in the skills and knowledge needed to achieve the standards of competency required to carry out the pre-use inspection and safe and correct use of Harness and Lanyards in the workplace.

On completion of this course the trainee will be able to identify defects which is the purpose of the inspection to discover and to have a basic understanding of the safe and correct use of Harness and Lanyards.
